QI (Quite Interesting) is a British comedy panel game television quiz show, which has been on BBC Four, One, and Two. The show revolves around obscure and difficult questions, which the panelists likely will not be able to answer, so to compensate, points are awarded for interesting answers and facts, even if they are unrelated to the question.
It was created by John Lloyd, is produced by Piers Fletcher, and was hosted by Stephen Fry until 2015, at which point Sandi Toksvig took over. It also stars Alan Davies as the one regular contestant, who will frequently be docked points for giving answers that are "not only wrong, but pathetically obvious".
The research team behind QI is led by John Mitchinson. They were given the nickname "The QI Elves" by Stephen Fry, after Santa's elves, who do most of the work but are hardly ever seen.
The hosts and presenters of No Such Thing As A Fish are part of this team of elves - Fish was created because the elves were finding lots of interesting facts which did not make it into QI, and didn't want to waste them.
